As long as forever
I’ll stay by your side
I’ll be your companion
Your friend and your guide

As long as I live
And as long as you care
I’ll do anything for you
I’ll go anywhere

I’ll bring you the sunshine
And comfort your fears
I’ll gather up rainbows
To chase all your tears

As long as forever
My heart will be true
For as long as I live
I will always love you

The Doberman Pinscher

Elegant in appearance, of proud carriage, reflecting great nobility and temperament. Energetic, watchful, determined, alert, fearless, loyal and obedient. These are the things that spur our love for the breed. Many people want one but unfortunately many people are unaware of how energetic, determined, and fearless they can actually be.

Understand the dog you now have in your hands is a very intelligent, independent thinker, physically agile and demanding of exercise. Mentally in need of stimulus and challenges and without them and left to its own device will get into trouble.

Not everyone can manage a Doberman which results in them being turned in to shelters or just abandoned to fend for themselves when an owner finds out they are too much for them to handle. Those of us who do make the cut are as fiercely loyal to our breed as they are to us.

Dobermans needs training from day one, doesn’t matter that they are a “rescue” or not, they need structure, they need consistence and they need it now. If you want to set them up for success don’t wait 24 hours to start, and regardless of your level of experience, HIRE a trainer.

A trainer will see things without emotional attachment in those crucial few bonding months that are ahead of you and make the adaptation smoother and the future calm and bright. Find a trainer that has breed experience, this is very very important and vital for the process to work well, or at least a trainer that has experience with working breeds.
